Exemplary Projects:

Partners Healthcare at Massachusetts General Hospital
The Director of Child Care Programs at Partners Healthcare at MGH called Mills Consulting Group faced with the dilemma of having not only one, but two Director positions vacant at their multi-site program. The two positions varied, as one was for their larger, off-campus center, and the other for their back-up care program, located within the hospital. Understanding that each position required a solid background in early childhood education, and skills specific to each program, Mills Consulting Group designed and administered a mailing, tailored for each position. After a careful review of incoming resumes, select candidates were interviewed and screened over the phone, and finalists were then presented to the Director of Programs, who conducted the on-site interviews. Two successful placements were made, and Mills Consulting Group was available to Partners Healthcare throughout the entire process, enabling them to access appropriate, experienced candidates and receive all the support they needed along the way.

Concord Children’s Center
When the Executive Director decided it was time for her to leave her position at the Concord Children’s Center, she and the board of directors realized that finding her replacement wasn’t going to be easy. Conducting a search for a new administrator is very time-intensive, and they knew they wanted an experienced leader, committed to the early care and education field, and to the close-knit community of Concord.

Mills Consulting Group was hired to conduct the search for a new Executive Director from start to finish. This involved meeting with a hiring committee and staff members to identify what qualities and skills were needed for a good match. We worked closely with the committee in designing an advertisement that felt right for them, developing a mailing list, networking with those in the community, and developing interview questions. Resumes received were then sorted, and telephone-screening interviews were conducted with appropriate candidates. On site interviews with the hiring committee for select candidates were arranged and attended by Mills Consulting Group. In the end, a successful final candidate was offered the position, and the Concord Children’s Center was delighted with the results of the search effort.
